We went everywhere. That has been such an eye opener to us that we've done away with the commercial part of Christmas. We've never given gifts for Christmas to each other anyway as we did follow St. Nicholas on December the 5th. That left Christmas as a pure family and religious oriented feast.
But we're glad to have our health; a roof above our heads with enough warmth to keep us cozy and lots to eat and cloth. Having seen so many people in poverty it is almost embarrassing if one looks at the piles of wrapping material that we trash the day after Christmas...
Not very Eco-friendly and a lot of money goes to the landfill.
But I'm glad you got your vintage dishes; that is very useful.
Both of us have a concept that it is 365 days a year Christmas and if we want something or see something special we get it than, not waiting for Christmas.
But his is just a personal reflection on life. As my husband often taught in his seminars: 'Nobody knows the trouble I've seen...' sung by Mahalia Jackson.

Enjoy the peaceful days of the end of 2010!

Mariette's Back to BasicsMariette VandenMunckhof-Vedderhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16877699174880945452noreply@blogger.com
