Tabletop Tuesday: Queen Victoria's Tea

On Saturday I posted a tea party setting in honor of Queen Victoria's birthday (HERE) that was hosted by The Victorian Parlor. I decided that I had to link it up with Marty at A Stroll Thru Life's Tabletop Tuesday as well!

Mosaic Monday: Flower Power

Bedding: Oooh-La-La

I might have mentioned at one time that I have a serious ADD problem when it comes to bedding. In addition to vintage linens, I LOVE bedding....whenever I see beautiful bedding I want it, even though I love the bedding I already have.

Just yesterday I got a catalog in the mail from Nieman-Marcus.
It had this white bedding in it:

This would look so lovely as my summer bedding!  Mmmm! Delectable.

Awhile back I posted about my summer bedding  (click HERE)...which isn't nearly as fancy as this (and not even remotely as expensive.) At the time I was looking for some pillow shams also to complete my "look".
I bought these from Target.

They are from the Rachel Ashwell Simply Shabby Chic collection.

They looks oh-so-lovely with my vintage pillowcases. I still need two more European shams which I am thinking I might try to sew myself. I saw some beautiful fabric at JoAnn's not long ago that I think would be perfect.
Hopefully I can complete my "summer bedding look" before summer is over. LOL!

Tea on The Sideboard: Queenly Tea

Welcome back!
Today I'm joining The Victorian Parlor for a tea party in honor of Queen Victoria's birthday on Monday.

A centerpiece of fresh flowers is a must..........

I made this flower arrangement with flowers purchased at Sam's Club....and I also used my own snowball viburnum........

I thought the color combination of pink, peaches and blue was different than what I usually do.......

Also, it matches the dress of another queen that has made a guest appearance at our Queenly Tea, Marie Antoinette.....

I didn't think Queen Victoria would mind if she was invited........they were from different time periods and might not have had a lot in common, but Marie Antoinette was Austrian and lived in Austria until her marriage at age 14 and Queen Victoria  was of mostly German descent, on her mother's side and spoke only German at home until she was well into her childhood. I would imagine they would feel comfortable talking of their love for dogs and children, in their native German tongue.

I've used my good silver tea/coffee service with the tray.

Some folks like lemon with their tea..............

I like my tea "English style" with a little milk and sugar.

I always have sugar cubes in my sugar bowl....I think they are just too cute.

A cake stand makes a handy serving piece for goodies.................

I made tea sandwiches and also have scones. The scones are cranberry pecan. The tea sandwiches are cranberry pecan chicken salad on cracked wheat. They were delicious! I got the recipe from Yvonne at Stone Gable.

I made May baskets to hang on the sideboard to add a little festive femininity to the occasion....

I used scrapbook paper and paper lace doilies..............

Inside, I tucked pink spray roses....the same ones that I used in the flower arrangement.

Each May basket is decorated with a crown.....and this one has the letter "R" for Regent.

And this one has a "V" for Victoria, of course..............

I really wish I had been able to take some pictures of this on a bright sunny day with lots of great light.....I imagine it would have looked quite lovely.....but unfortunately, my work schedule this week did not allow for this, so I had to settle for taking the pictures when it was already dark outside. Oh well!
