Outdoor Wednesday: Renaissance Faire

One of the things that Erik and I enjoy every summer is visiting the Renaissance Faire in Bristol, WI. It runs all summer until about Labor Day. We visited there this past weekend and enjoyed ourselves very much, even though it was 88 degrees and very humid!

I was able to get a few nice pictures of the Court on parade. Here are the titled gentlemen of the Court.

How fun it must be to dress up in costume like this!

I also had to take a picture of a peacock feather cape that was in one of the costumer's shops.

I have seen this cape in the same shop in previous years, but it was usually hanging up on a wall. This year they had it on a dressed mannequin.

She also had a gorgeous peacock feather fan! Love it!

I didn't take many other pictures, but we visited the numerous shops, and watched some shows. We ate grilled chicken breast on a stick (yum!) and cheese fritters, which we always eat when we go to the Faire. We also made sure to visit our favorite shops, Blackheath Books, where they always have great and unusual booksm (I bought one book) and The Confectioner to the Queen, where we bought fudge and I got a chocolate covered marshmallow, too. I also bought a great music CD of traditional holiday, winter and feasting songs from the Middle Ages and Renaissance Period.
