Front porch view
Despite the wind and snow, we still had two visitors who were braving the blizzard to snack on some corn:
Here's one of them. Olive and I sat in her chair by the window (yes, Olive has her own special viewing chair) and watched Big Fat and Little Fat take turns getting some corn. This is Big Fat; I call him that because he's the bigger of the two plump squirrels that have been visiting our feeder. Little Fat was in a nearby tree carrying around what looked like a large hard roll. He seemed to have difficulty deciding where to stash his hard roll treasure when he would make his sorties to the feeder.
I couldn't capture the elusive Little Fat on camera (despite being weighed down by a hard roll that was nearly his own size) because he was too quick for me, but I took a picture of my bird house instead, looking forlorn and empty. When the snow really comes down, and if isn't windy, the bird house will be wearing a towering cap of snow.
Thanks for visiting!

I get to missing the snow back home in CO this time of year, and then I see pictures like this and remember the first 28 years of my life...and I get over it very quickly! I am happy to just visit in the SUMMERS now. :-) Stay safe, AND WARM, Katie - Happy Snowy Sunday - Tanya
I want some snow!!! We're sitting here sweating in 80 degree warmth...doesn't make it feel very Christmassy:(
Dearest Katie,
Well, your squirrels don't look like they lack any food! Lucky critters who find such squirrel gourmet food up for grabs.
Today we also had mean wind but no snow, it will freeze tonight though, about 20°F.
Enjoy whatever you do and stay warm; like Olive.

Hope you're staying warm tonight. The squirels sure do have it good over there. I've never thought to actually feed them. Does that keep them away from the bird's food?
Brrr...all that snow makes me cold just looking at it in the pictures! We have some pretty cold temps right now in SC (20's and 30's). Kramer has his own window wathcing spots too:). I try to locate the bird feeders near those windows so he can watch the birds and the squirrels.
Blessings,
Kim
I need to get outside and re-fill my feeders. It's hard to keep them full this time of year....I love watching the birds visit, though, don't you?
Happy Christmas!
I live in CA, so the snow looks beautiful to me! We have squirrels too, and, yesterday,a flock of peacocks came for a visit too!
Love your blog. I have a new one you might like. Please drop by and see. Merry Christmas. Richard. myoldhistorichouse.blogspot.com
