I will also be linking up with A Southern Daydreamer for Outdoor Wednesday because I do have some outdoor pictures to share as well!
As darkness fell, it was time to light the jack-o-lanterns!
The large lanterns and small votives were also lit..............
Here's a view of the front porch with jack-o-lanterns and candles glowing..........
The lights in the upstairs guest room show off the cavorting window ghoul (there's two of them actually; the other is in another window on the side of the house!)
Wicked! (sorry for the blurriness...my camera was NOT co-operating that night!)
Inside the house, the candles in the fireplaces were lit, to the delight of Olive. She seems oddly fascinated by candles.
Chicken and farfalle pasta salad....
Cool and Creamy Chocolate Fondue Dip ( a Pampered Chef recipe) with apples, pears, strawberries and pineapple to dip.........
"Sinister Sludge" dip and black tortilla corn chips. The dip is actually a black bean and avocado dip with oinion, jalapeno peppers and fresh lime juice.
"Stuffed eyeballs" (in actuality: garlic and bleu cheese stuffed olives)
Caprese picks (marinated fresh mozzarella, halved cherry tomaotes and fresh basil on bamboo skewers).
Crispy, salty crunchy snacks............
A three-tiered server came in handy for serving cupcakes and frosted Halloween sugar cookies in pumpkin, ghost, cat and bat shapes..........
The cupcakes were chocolate with vanilla frosting, decorated with purple, green, silver and black decorating sugars and also molded candy skulls that I made myself using green Candy Melts (they were vanilla flavored) and candy molds that I bought some time ago.
We also had two birthday cakes; a decorated cheesecake my mom made:
And a German chocolate cake that my mother-in-law made:
(Not pictured: hot appetizers, Asparagus Roll Ups, a huge platter of finger sandwiches and an equally huge platter of deviled eggs)
Happy Halloween!
Thanks for joining me!

Katie,
Love the picture of you and Eric! The black bean and 'cado dip looked really good, I might try to make it. Glad you guys had a happy b-day.
Katie-
The food looks divine, and presented so nicely! And the moms sure did a great job with the cakes! I love all the candles, inside and out. That really sets the mood. And you two look wonderful in your costumes... no way are you both 40! So much planning that goes into parties, and then they're over with so fast!
Thanks for sharing your party with us. I always get such great ideas from your blog!
