This Saturday I will be joining a blog tea party in honor of Queen Victoria's birthday on May 24th,which will be hosted by The Victorian Parlor.
As part of my tea party, I decided to bring another queen, Marie Antoinette, downstairs and have her as part of my tea party setting.
I figured that Queen Victoria wouldn't mind, even if La Reine is French! I thought I'd share a couple pictures of her for Show and Tell Friday, hosted by Cindy at My Romantic Home.
Of course, my Marie Antoinette is a doll. She even has fancy pantalets and shoes, but I didn't think it would be polite to lift her dress and take pictures of her underwear.
I love everything about her; her dress, her fan, her hair, her sparkly necklace. She is made of fine bisque and stands about a foot and a half tall. I bought her many years ago. She was rather expensive.
I love her exquisitely painted face. I have several other lady dolls that I bought about 20 years ago. I don't really collect dolls, but I have a couple of others; they are all ladies wearing dresses from various time periods in the Victorian Era. One of them is a Gibson Girl bride. Marie Antoinette is smaller than the others; the others are much larger.
I'll be posting the rest of my queenly tea party on Saturday.
Thanks for stopping by!
