Tablescape Thursday: Blue Transferware Table #1

Welcome back to another Tablescape Thursday, hosted by Susan at Between Naps on the Porch! Be sure to check in frequently to see all the other participant's links!

I put together this table using some pieces of Spode blue transferware that I recently purchased to add to my budding collection. I called it 'Table #1" because I will be doing a second table for next week using the same dishes, but with a slightly different color scheme.

I've set up today at the small table in our kitchen which we use mostly for breakfast or sometimes luncheon.

I'm using this vintage tablecloth that was also a recent purchase. I LOVE these fabulous old tablecloths. This one has a few places of discoloration from use, but all in all it still looks really great.

Faux white daisies in a vase and other things make up the 'centerpiece' which I purposely left not in the center!
My mother-in-law made this pedestal plate by gluing a crystal candlestick to the bottom of the plate. I think it will serve nicely for our luncheon to either display dessert bars or if we were having lunch for more than two, to serve sandwiches!
My mother-in-law found these plates somewhere; they were called "Blue Peacock" on the label, even though the bird doesn't look exactly like a peacock. Still, I love the design and the colors! She found the 1 large plate and then 4 smaller ones. They are an interesting creamy yellow color that look very yellow in some lighting or cream in others. I saw some luncheon/salad plates in this pattern not long ago at a consignment shop and I hope they are still there when I go back!
They look fabulous with my new Spode transferware!

My trusty yellow plaid napkins are placed underneath the plates. I didn't use place mats today. I didn't want to cover up the fabulous-ness of the vintage table cloth!

My Oneida stainless flatware which used to be my "good" flatware is now relegated to everyday use since I got my fancy new silver plate flatware! (HERE)

I don't mind buying plates with different patterns.
I wish I had napkins in this blue and white Chinese toile fabric.
Unfortunately, this was a discontinued fabric sample that I bought for $1 at JoAnn's to make a dishtowel out of. If it wasn't discontinued, I would have bought some material and made a set of napkins!
I think we'll have some raspberry lemonade with our lunch today!

Mmmmmm!

Thanks for stopping by!

Beautiful table. You've done a wonderful job pulling everything together. My post is about mixing patterns, and features a blue and white table setting. Dropping by from BNOTP.

Oh, the tablecloth is a wonderful find and I love the blue glasses. I wish I could find some like that in blue to go with all my dishware.

Katie, your dishes looks wonderful on that beautiful vintage tablecloth. I love the muted colors...who cares if there is a little discoloration, it obviously was cared about enough to be used many times. The peacock dishes are very pretty.
