The Pink Poodle that Lost Her Head...

Once again I wanted to join Beverly at How Sweet the Sound for Pink Saturday, but I keep having technical difficulties sending an email to join the party. :-(  I promise I will keep working on that and maybe one of these days I can link up! If you haven't checked out Pink Saturday, I encourage you to do so!

Anyhoo,  I was going to share this sweet pink poodle figure:

Doesn't her haughty brows make her look sort of sassy? Or like a femme fatale?

She has a puppy attached to her collar on a chain. Usually when I see these, there are two pups, but she only had one. I always call these 'dresser poodles', but I don't collect or know much about the 1950-60s so I don't know what they are really called (I assume these were popular in the 1950s or 1960s). They looked like something a lady would have to adorn her dressing table. I  own her sort of by accident. In April when I went treasure hunting at a large antique mall I was looking at some pink Depression glass and I accidentally knocked this poodle off the shelf below. She fell and her head broke off. Of course, I put her in my basket and bought her. Luckily, the booth she was from was having a 40% off sale and the folks at the antique mall were kind enough to reduce the price by another 20% because she was broken, even though it was me who broke her. So, I took her home, glued her head back on and now she sits sweetly on my dresser in my room.

I also wanted to show this interesting item:

I had some extra pink spray roses from a centerpiece I made for my Queen Victoria Tea , so I put them in this. I'm not even sure what to call it, exactly. It has a glass bowl that rests on a silver-plate base with swans and small candle holders.
The glass bowl has a metal cover with holes in it; sort of like a flower frog. The candle holders are really tiny; none of my regular size tapers fit in it, so I'll have to look for skinnier ones. My mother-in-law found this somewhere and gave it to me, knowing my fondness for making centerpieces and flower arrangements.

Thanks for stopping by!

Hi Katie!!
Your roses are gorgeous and I'm in love with your pink poodle!!
I believe that style is called "spaghetti". I used to have a black set with the 2 puppies!
Your little lady sure does have that sassy look in her eyes ;-)
Happy Pink Saturday!
